Genesis 3:11. Do You Know Who You've Been Listening To?

Genesis 3:11 “And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?”

God keeps on asking deep, searching questions. Who did tell Adam that he was naked? Adam doesn't say, and the text doesn't tell us directly, either. But it does say who told them that they would be like gods and would know good and evil. They ate from the wrong tree and their eyes were opened to darkness, and their minds invaded by guilt and shame.

Today, God asks you the same kinds of questions when you make your fears and failures excuses for hiding from Him: “Who told you that? Who have you been listening to? Have you disobeyed My Word?”

God invites us to reason from cause to effect. It’s time for a Source check. Who determines what or who you are, and why, anyway? Your Creator, or the Great Charlatan?

Many people say, "Neither! I decide who I am for myself. I make my own purpose and my own way."  But that response is Serpent doctrine: it was his idea first.

So the question remains: what divine commands have you disregarded? What bad choices you made are the real culprits for the negative outcomes in your life? Do you realize who you have been listening to?

The Word of God is bread from heaven. God sent it, but we must gather it, appreciate it, digest it, and live by it. These days it is increasingly scarce. Many are starving for it and don't know it because they keep feasting on bad bread that doesn't satisfy. But if we would learn to carefully gather up the fragments of the True, Heavenly Bread of Life, we would always enjoy a feast of crumbs, because even God's crumbs are miracles mighty to save (Mark 7:24-30).
