Genesis 2:25 “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed”
Can you imagine how embarrassed you would be (or would have been) if the first time you met your spouse you were naked? On the other hand, how many healthy married people are ashamed to be seen naked by their partner? Could it be that bodily nakedness causes shame only when a corresponding nakedness of heart and soul has not first been freely and fully given? When Adam met his wife, he already knew her as well as he knew himself. There were no dark secrets, no past life records, nothing to hide, nothing to fear, and no regrets. Therefore perfect transparency was an adequate covering, and so “they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
What will happen when you find yourself before God with "all things naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do" (Hebrews 4:13)? Will you be able to stand unashamed in the transparent garments of Christ's righteousness because you have already confessed your sins and sent them beforehand to judgment (1 Timothy 5:24)?
