Genesis 1:27. In God's Own Image

Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Unlike the beasts that were made according to their kind, or like each other in various aspects, man is made according to the image and after the likeness of God. An image is illustrative, it is not the same in every respect as the thing it represents. Yet the characteristics given to mankind set us apart from the rest of creation, and position us closer to God. Our language abilities, creativity, reason and moral capacity are a few of the unique indicators of the divine image that can help us understand our Maker a little better. Also notice: "male and female create He them." Contrary to today’s cultural rebellion, the image of God is binary and includes one male and one female. Men and women are unique and distinct, yet made for each other, designed to be completely compatible. Together they reflect more completely the image and likeness of God. Be content with the gender God gave you, and be content to be with the opposite sex for your companion as God designed. Don't mess with the image of God.

The Word of God is bread from heaven. God sent it, but we must gather it, appreciate it, digest it, and live by it. These days it is increasingly scarce. Many are starving for it and don't know it because they keep feasting on bad bread that doesn't satisfy. But if we would learn to carefully gather up the fragments of the True, Heavenly Bread of Life, we would always enjoy a feast of crumbs, because even God's crumbs are miracles mighty to save (Mark 7:24-30).
