Genesis 1:4 “And God saw the light that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.”
Separation and division is not always negative (see also Hebrews 4:12). It was an important part of a perfect creation in more than one instance. In verse six and seven God divides the waters from the waters, creating the firmament in between them, and in verse 14 He further marked the division of night from day placing the sun moon and stars as signs. Indeed, it is impossible to create design without the essential aspects of order and organization which necessarily make use of separation and division. The permanent blending of light and darkness is not the work of God. It wasn’t at creation, and it is not today. The shades of gray either pass away to blackness or give place to the light in its splendor. Which will it be in your life today?
