Gen 1:3a “And God said...”
God speaks. He has words, which means language is a divine attribute. Therefore, human language is part of the image of God in man. (See Genesis 1:27). God's language is so perfect and sublime, so above and beyond us, our ears cannot discern it, our minds cannot comprehend it, neither can they bear it (Isaiah 55:8-9, John 8:43). But God has mercifully condescended to put His word in our language, in a way we can understand. As if that were little, His Word then became flesh and lived among us in the person of Jesus Christ, an audiovisual of the mind of God, His thoughts made readable (John 1:1, 14). If we listen with humility, if we receive those movings of the Spirt of God on our troubled waters, God will open His mind to us and make His inspired Word readable and understandable to you and me (John 5:37-47).
